What Role Has The Bible Played In The Formation of America?
Was America formed as a Christian Nation? Were those who organized our government mindful of the Bible and the Laws of God?
During a Congressional Briefing in 2008, Rob was invited to attend a conference between pastors and Congressmen regarding the Spiritual Heritage of America in Washington D.C., hosted by David Barton. One of the speakers at this conference was Senator Randy Forbes.
Senator Forbes said this:
“The 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence were the greatest men the country has ever known. They understood two things:
1. Our rights came to us from our Creator.
2. These set of rights cannot be taken away by man because they came from our Creator.
There is an attack today on the first principle that our rights came from our Creator. Those today in government would have us believe that our rights come from government, not from a Creator.”
What influence did the Bible have upon the formation of America and her government?
In this 22 part series by David Barton you will learn that from the very beginning, the people who came to this land and those that framed our Constitution and Declared Independence, determined that America’s laws would come “From the Laws of nature and Nature’s God“.
[box]Understanding the formation of the United States and the manner in which the Constitution was framed, is largely unknown to a majority of Americans. This study brings the listener into the arena of facts that exist from the historical record.[/box]
